August 21, 2017 – The Sun, the Moon, and You:  A total eclipse celebration 117 years in the making.  Join us in Winnsboro, SC as we travel south to view the solar eclipse in totality and commemorate the expedition made 117 years earlier by past Davidson physics professor and College president Dr. Henry Smith to observe the 1900 total eclipse that passed through the same region.  Done in collaboration with the Fairfield Museum in Winnsboro.
